In recent years several classes of lasers were proposed to improve non surgical treatments. Photo-biomodulation, photo-chemical, photo-thermal and photo-mechanical properties of different laser were been tried, specially during closed flap approach. Combination of conventional treatments and lasers is a promising field of research and clinics.

Transplantation vs transposition. One Wound Idea: indications, contraindications, possibilities and limitations

Transplantation as a surgical procedure that involves a donor and a recipient wound raises justified fear in patients. In hard and soft tissue reconstructive procedures, tissue transposition can alternatively be performed within the scope of a single wound, providing an equally good morphological-aesthetic effect while being stable over time. How to classify a technique into a dangerous or safe category and how to perform the procedure step by step, is presented by the author during the lecture based on his own clinical cases.

How to keep the pulp alive? Methods and materials used in the treatment of deep caries and carious / accidentally exposed pulp

The lecture will cover the methods currently recommended in the treatment of deep and very deep caries. Particular attention will be paid to the techniques used to avoid pulp exposure and the methods that are used in the event of an accidental or carious covering of the pulp. The materials used in the treatment of deep caries and exposed or amputated pulp will be discussed, with particular emphasis on calcium silicate cements as well as conventional materials.

Iatrogenic errors (guilty and not guilty) in mucogingival surgery

Medical errors committed before, during and after treatment in the field of gingival plastic surgery may compromise the function of the periodontal tissue, the aesthetics and the comfort of the patient. To eliminate errors, it is important to correctly decide on the procedure, apply the most adequate surgical technique, use appropriate tools and ensure postoperative stability of the operated tissues through the use of suitable surgical sutures and dressings.

New fashion for smoking electronic cigarettes has led the author to look into the phenomenon and review of the literature in this area. The lecture will present current medical views related to the use of electronic cigarettes and their impact on oral health.

SARS-CoV-2 infections in the every doctor point of view

The purpose of the presentation is to show the most important information about the biology of the SARS-CoV2 coronavirus, the clinical symptomatology of COVID-19 and the current treatment and prevention options for this infection. In addition, the most current issues regarding the acquisition of passive immunity through vaccination at the time of the emergence of new coronavirus mutations will be discussed. Information will also be provided on the potential possibility of SARS-CoV2 cross-infection in the dentist’s office.

Oral mouth lesions during and after SARS-CoV2 infection

The aim of this lecture is to present, based on the literature and the observations of infectious disease doctors and dentists from the Medical University of Wrocław, the symptomatology of such changes on the mucosa and in the periodontium during the periods of SARS-CoV2 infection and after its history. In one control-clinical study, patients with severe periodontitis significantly increased the risk of all complications from COVID-19, death from COVID-19, the need for assisted ventilation, and the need for admission to an intensive care unit.

Demonstration and practical workshop with the PrepStart H2O water-jacketed abrasive sandblaster and the Microetcher IIa abrasive micro sandblaster (Danville Materials/Zest Dental Solutions USA products). Practical exercises on phantom teeth and glass plates – getting to know the technique of working with air abrasion.

How to avoid tooth extraction?

During this lecture the new SUS3 device will be presented. Its advantages and various clinical applications are: treatment of the retrograde malocclusion, an alternative to dysgnathia surgery, distalization in the maxilla, anchoring and closing the gap (alternative to using a headgear and mini-implants), CMD, snoring and sleep apnea therapy.

Complications in Ortho-Surgery

Many factors influence the incidence of complications after ortho-surgical treatment. Among them, the assessment of indications and risk factors, the correctness of the treatment and the experience of the team are of particular importance. The lecture will present and discuss the causes of specific complications that may occur at all stages of treatment, methods of their diagnosis and treatment, as well as the prevention of their occurrence.

Vitamin D and malocclusion.

Abnormal growth of the craniofacial bone leads to skeletal and dental defects, which results in malocclusion. Not all the causes of malocclusion have been explained so far. In the development of skeletal abnormalities, attention is paid to general deficiencies, including vitamin D3 (VD3), which causes min. rickets. Recent studies have shown that its chronic deficiency may contribute to the formation of skeletal malocclusion. The aim of the lecture is to present the impact of VD3 deficiency on the development of malocclusion as well as the shape and structure of the teeth. The principles of proper diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients will also be discussed

During the workshop, the SUS3 (Sabbagh Universal Spring), a new inter-jaw telescopic apparatus with an integrated spring, will be presented. SUS3 is a continuation of SUS2, which has been proven in the dental market for 18 years.
