The Polish Dental Society was established in 1951 on the initiative of the Scientific Council at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and this year it celebrated its 70th anniversary. The ceremony took place on November 26-27 in Łódź, at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, where a two-day scientific conference was held, combined with workshop panels, an exhibition and integration part.
On the first day, the lectures concerned, among others, the FLOS concept in the diagnosis and treatment of malocclusion (Prof. Marzena Dominiak, Prof. Tomasz Gedrange), the principles of minimally invasive dentistry using the Invisalign system (Dr. Raman Aulakh, Dr. Barry Buckley), the 4D approach in the prevention of caries and non-regenerative management in young patients ( prof. Svante Twetman) and digitization in prosthetics (prof. Jan Pietruski). The culmination of the first day of the celebration was a concert by Andrzej Piaseczny and an auction of ceramic models of teeth signed by, among others Olga Tokarczuk, Jerzy Owsiak and Anita Włodarczyk.
– Thanks to the generosity and great hearts of the donors, we managed to collect about 150,000. zloty. The entire amount will be allocated to dental treatment of children from poor families – adds Piotr Flejszar, director of the office of the main board of the Polish Dental Society.
On the second day, in the conference room of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, there appeared, among others dr hab. Mariusz Szuta (oncological surgery of the head and neck area), Dr. Daniel Ciapiński (lifting the bottom of the maxillary sinus), Dr. Bartłomiej Karaś (the possibilities of modern endodontics based on the achievements of digital technology) and Dr. Michał Sobczak (prospects for the development of modern pedodontics).
On Friday and Saturday, participants could also take part in workshops conducted, among others, by prof. Marzena Dominiak and dr hab. Kinga Grzech-Leśniak, and on Saturday the event accompanying the jubilee was the 6th Congress of Dental Hygienists and Assistants.
On September 8-10, 2022, the 5th edition of the Warsaw Dental Medica Show takes place – a unique event that combines in its formula fairs, conferences and training dedicated to the dentistry and aesthetic medicine industry. During this year’s edition, the Polish Dental Society will once again be our strategic partner.
