Summary of the 2nd edition of the Warsaw Dental Medica Show
The second edition of the Warsaw Dental Medica Show has gone down in history. The International Trade Fair and Congress of Dentistry and Aesthetic Medicine at the Ptak Warsaw Trade Fair and Congress Center is the only such event in Poland that integrates the environment of dentistry and aesthetic medicine, carried out in the formula of the Great Industry Show. Warsaw Dental Medica Show is characterized by a mixed concept – a business platform, as well as a space for dentists and dental assistants who want to expand their knowledge based on practice. In some of the specially prepared conference rooms, live shows and treatments are presented, while in others interesting industry issues are discussed in detail. This great celebration of Dentistry and Aesthetic Medicine took place in the Ptak Warsaw Expo halls on September 5-7, 2019.
During the event, the offers of producers and distributors from the broadly understood dental and aesthetic medicine industry were presented. As in the previous year, there was also a Congress dedicated to both branches, the substantive level of which was taken care of by the best specialists in the industry: prof. dr hab. Renata Górska, MD, Michał Żarow, MD, PhD, Paweł Plakwicz, MD, PhD, n. med. Jan Kowalski, dr hab. Ewa Czochrowska, MD, Ph.D. Piotr Okoński, MD, Ph.D. dent. Jacek Ciesielski, Lidia Majewska, MD, PhD, MD med. Bartosz Pawlikowski, Dr. Elżbieta Podgórska, MD, MD, Ph.D. med. Urszula Brumer, prof. Andrea Corbo.
This year, visitors could take advantage of as many as 14 thematic zones. The organizers divided the Warsaw Dental Medica Show into: the Dentistry and Aesthetic Medicine Zone, the Innovation and Modern Technologies Zone, the Ergonomic Dental Clinic, the Open Leaders Forum, the Expert Panel, the Career Zone, the Hosted Buyers Zone, i.e. a meeting platform enabling manufacturers to build lasting business relationships with key partners from the East and West of Europe, the Design & Style Zone, the Architecture Zone, the Finance Zone, the Legal Advice Zone, the Education Zone and the International Show.
The innovative nature of the project attracted over 8,000 visitors to the Ptak Warsaw Expo halls, who took part in 86 lectures, conducted by 87 lecturers and 45 thematic workshops in 25 rooms. 204 exhibitors presented 960 brands. As many as 1,054 participants took part in the Congress itself. It is worth emphasizing the visible increase in interest in the event compared to the first edition, which gathered 5,500 visitors and 173 exhibitors who presented 960 brands.
The organizers of the Warsaw Dental Medica Show also took care of a moment of relaxation for exhibitors and visitors. On September 5, there was a Music Evening, where the legend of the Polish music market, Marek Sierocki, performed. He is one of the most famous Polish music presenters, journalist and author of biographical books of famous music bands. The real Show, however, was waiting for the participants the next day, when the famous Lou Bega, a German singer who celebrated his greatest triumphs at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, took the stage. It is for the famous song “Mambo No. 5 “, the exhibitors of the event had fun with the Artist’s output.
The Warsaw Dental Medica Show is an event that is hard to put into any frames. It is a wonderful 3 days, during which science and practice, a platform for building business relationships and a unique show, intertwine. We cordially invite you to the third edition of the fair, which will take place on September 10-12, 2020 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.
Area for dental technicians during the Warsaw Dental Medica Show – knowledge and practice at its best!
On September 5-7, 2019, the International Trade Fair and Congress of Dentistry and Aesthetic Medicine WARSAW DENTAL MEDICA SHOW 2019 was held at Ptak Warsaw Expo. The dental technology industry was waiting impatiently for this year’s edition of the event. Why?
One of the main thematic zones at the fair was the Dental Technicians zone. For the first time on such a scale, the organizers managed to gather industry practitioners on such a scale. Special workshop sessions, attractive lectures, great speakers. And all with a hint of humor, music and fun. We had a small industry holiday at Ptak Warsaw Expo.
The main partner of the zone was HOLTRADE, a leading Polish producer and distributor of materials and technologies for the prosthetics and dental technology sector. In cooperation with another Polish entity, KTI IMPLANTS, a very extensive training and workshop program has been created. – A very open formula of the workshops, world names of the speakers, an extremely active program – all this contributed to a great attendance – says Zofia Deja, marketing director and co-owner of the HOLTRADE group.
– We can safely say that it is a very successful undertaking. Several hundred technicians from all over Poland took part in it, we also had guests from Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan – says Agnieszka Dąbkowska, director of the Warsaw Dental Medica Show. – We will systematically develop them by adding new elements so that the industry can find its place with us permanently – he adds.
The event also included workshops for dental technicians organized in cooperation with the Silver Dent foundation. In numbers, it is over 100 participants, 6 workshop rooms and an attractive program of activities adapted to the current trends in the industry.
It is already known today that the entire event will continue in this shape. Organizers It can be safely said that in Nadarzyn a place has finally been created especially for technicians. On behalf of the editorial office of Nowoczesnych Technika Dental – substantive partner of the fair and the zone, we invite you today to the next edition of the fair!
Warsaw Dental Medica Show 2019 – over 200 companies from the dentistry and aesthetic medicine sector, over 1,000 participants of the congress and workshops for dentists, dental hygienists and dental technicians, 86 lectures and congress presentations and 45 practical workshops. The face is the primary organ for social communication. Its image is the basis for identifying an individual person, assessing their age, health, potential competences, emotions and the attractiveness associated with these features. The features of the facial image that determine attractiveness are well known and used on a daily basis by programs used to improve the virtual image in social media. New techniques of aesthetic medicine, especially dermatology and aesthetic dentistry, allow for obtaining similar results in the "real world". Medical modifications should, however, take into account the health and full function of the facial organ, which is a prerequisite for long-term maintenance of the attractiveness of the face.

"Improving the aesthetics of a smile with porcelain veneers in orthodontically treated patients." The presentation will discuss the topic of aesthetic prosthetic treatment after completed orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic treatment is not always sufficient to restore the full and satisfactory smile aesthetics for the patient. This applies to patients with generalized tooth abrasions, anterior cavity resulting from the disproportion between the width of the teeth and the size of the bone base, enamel dysfunctions and requiring tooth shape changes as in cases of orthodontic space closure and transplanted teeth. In the above cases, only prosthetic treatment is the target treatment.

The costs of procedures in dentistry - we have it counted! Everything for you - a course for private office owners. During the course, you will find out which procedures are expensive for the practice owner and why. Cost consumption will cease to be a secret. Dental management myth buster explains what doesn't work and why? What is the social economy and how does it count to translate profits into reality. Long term, meaningful, based on scientific evidence and the only correct path that always works. Over 120 clinics and offices and 21 years of work - no mistakes and the highest quality in implementations.
Dr. med. Maciej Żarow
The conservator's dentistry is experiencing a renaissance thanks to the development of new adhesive techniques, materials, instruments and the higher awareness of dentists and patients themselves. When faced with the choice of available techniques, the dentist should consciously and ethically present the patient with the options of tooth reconstruction today or possible changes improving their aesthetics. In the case of many patients, such possibilities as whitening, microabrasion, enamel infiltration with resin or reconstruction with composite resins provide an alternative to traditional prosthetic solutions, often without interfering with the hard tissues of the teeth. In other more complex cases, techniques of minimal preparation and the use of porcelain veneers are possible, but in accordance with the rules of minimal preparation. In this case, planning is key, and the doctor and the patient must be aware of the final shape of the teeth at the very beginning of treatment planning. Fortunately, the techniques of invasive preparation that expose the dentine on a large surface of the tooth are a thing of the past and are rarely used today… hopefully even less! During the lecture, the author will present, based on clinical cases, indications and contraindications of various solutions in minimally invasive restorative dentistry.

The condition of the soft and hard tissues surrounding the teeth is a key factor in the long-term effects of dental treatment and patient satisfaction. Interdisciplinary treatment, especially of adult patients, including orthodontic, prosthetic or implant-prosthetic treatment, is particularly demanding with regard to the correct assessment of the gingiva condition and the planned sequence of steps. Gingival recessions, especially in a thin periodontal phonotype, are often a difficult challenge in the treatment of adult patients and sometimes constitute an aesthetic limitation of the planned treatment. The lecture will present cases of treating patients undergoing various multidisciplinary treatment plans, which will illustrate the potential options for treating gingival recessions. Both classical methods of transplantation of subepithelial connective tissue from the palate as well as the use of substitutes for this tissue available in Poland will be discussed. Examples of cooperation between a surgeon, an orthodontist and a prosthetist in the treatment of adult patients requiring alignment of teeth, prosthetic rehabilitation and surgical procedures to improve the phenotype and position of the marginal gingiva will be presented.
Dr. Med. Aleksandra Palatyńska-Ulatowska
Perforation of hard tooth tissues is one of the iatrogenic complications of endodontic treatment, and its diagnosis and treatment are often a challenge for the dentist. Correct diagnosis and correct determination of the type of perforation determine clinical management. Understanding the most common causes of this type of failure and the methods to prevent them is an equally important aspect of this issue. Therefore, the lecture will discuss the factors influencing the occurrence of perforation and examples of cases in which it occurs most often. In addition to aspects related to the diagnosis, prognosis and clinical classification of perforation, the procedures for the reconstruction of lost tissues will be presented. They illustrate techniques, tools and materials used in closing such cavities. The lecture will include a presentation of practical tips, the use of which is aimed at preventing such complications, and an algorithm for the treatment of existing perforations.

In modern aesthetic dentistry, laser devices allow you to perform clinical procedures using the properties and advantages of laser light. Due to the bactericidal, anti-edema, and pain-relieving effects and the precision of dose application, the condition of the operated tissues after the procedures is without inflammation, swelling and pain. The lecture presents procedures for which there is no alternative to using traditional surgical methods. Such a procedure is the elongation of the crown / crowns with the correction of the edge of the alveolar bone without forming the access of the flap. The method allows for very precise determination of the edge of the alveolar bone that determines the reconstruction of the new biological width.

Destruction of hard and soft tissues surrounding the teeth, leading to deterioration of aesthetics, pathological migration and increased tooth mobility, and consequently their loss, are just some of the consequences of periodontitis. Advanced forms of periodontal disease require interdisciplinary treatment. Reconstruction of the function and aesthetics of the stomatognathic system with the participation of regenerative techniques and implant-prosthetic rehabilitation in many cases requires the implementation of preparatory reconstructive procedures. The analysis of risk factors, which are largely common to periodontitis and peri-implantation tissue inflammation, is particularly important in relation to patients predisposed to periodontal diseases with a dynamic and aggressive course. The presentation will present problems related to implant-prosthetic treatment of patients with advanced forms of periodontopathy and the possibilities of rebuilding lost periodontal tissues.
dr n.med. Maciej Nowak
The nature and location of pain, as well as the presence of inflammation, are determined by medical history and physical examination. Pain medications are recommended before a complete clinical evaluation is performed and final dental treatment is undertaken. They are also used as adjunctive therapy after surgical and dental procedures, conservative and endodontic treatment, treatment of periodontal and mucosa diseases, difficult tooth eruption, tooth sensitivity, and in the event of complications. When choosing a drug, special attention should be paid to the balancing of analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects with side effects. Any physician prescribing NSAIDs should be aware of the important differences between these drugs. Incorrect handling and selection of the drug may increase the risk of damage to the upper gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidneys. Complications from the gastrointestinal tract concern up to 30% of patients taking NSAIDs. Depending on the composition of the active substance, NSAIDs may differ in the strength of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as the speed of action and the occurrence of side effects. Appropriate selection of the drug and possible simultaneous use of protective drugs can significantly reduce the incidence of side effects. Enantiomers are of increasing importance in the pharmacotherapy of pain. Replacing racemic drugs with enantiomerically pure forms is to achieve a better therapeutic index. One example of the indisputable benefit of using enantiomers in clinical practice is the introduction of dexketoprofen to treatment. Removal of the unnecessary (levorotatory) isomer from the parent ketoprofen (racemate) allowed for potential benefits vs ketoprofen: - halving the dose to achieve the same therapeutic effect - the possibility of reducing the metabolic load by half - the possibility of reducing the risk of side effects. In order to reduce side effects, drugs with a short half-life and rapid duration of action should be selected, especially isomers of classic NSAIDs (eg dexketoprofen), use the lowest effective dose and avoid dangerous drug interactions. "

Regardless of the type of implant used, the architecture of the gum line is the basic component of an attractive smile. Not only is it assessed by the patient at the time of receiving the prosthetic work, but also during subsequent checks, for many years, we want healthy tissues to accompany the implanted area. The identification of the gingival biotype accompanies each clinical examination in the implantoprosthetic planning. Especially the lack of proper gingiva promotes the accumulation of plaque, bleeding, major recessions and results in loss of attachment. The problems of periodontology and implantology are closely related because the growth of the bacterial plaque results in the loss of peri-shear tissues in the apical direction and the loss of aesthetics and the implant itself.

AESTHETIC DENTISTRY is not a specialization, it is everyday dentistry, well done dentistry. Aesthetics is not the end of treatment, it is the result of respect for biology and the application of healthy functional and biomechanical principles. Since restorative materials such as composite resins and ceramics may be the same color as the tooth, the result should also be "aesthetic" (P. Magne). The topic of this lecture is dedicated to digital aesthetic dentistry of the front teeth. The lecturer will analyze the prosthetic treatment process step by step from the scan in the patient's mouth to the prosthetic reconstruction. The lecture will also cover the topic of design or simulation with the use of software. The simulation of the final result directly in the patient's mouth is of fundamental importance, because thanks to the mock-up, it is possible to assess the impact of our design not only on the front teeth, but on the patient's entire face, also assessing the correct occlusion and possible design change. The program will always take into account the patient's needs, present NALYSIS and facilitate clinical decision making. TREATMENT often follows formal or informal algorithmic guidelines thanks to data analysis, which enables decision making and produces the final treatment plan, taking into account all aspects that may determine the final results not only from a clinical point of view but also from a psychological point of view. Intraoral Scanning, Models Digitization, Addictive Manufacturing Give the Dental Team Simplification of Protocols Key to Clinical Success.

Pathological tooth migrations (PMZ), which may occur as a result of lowering the height of the alveolar ridge, usually worsen the occlusal relationship of the teeth, smile aesthetics and even pronunciation. Treatment of very severe PMZ includes tooth extraction and prosthetic reconstruction of defects, usually with the use of implant-prosthetic treatment. However, the prognosis for missing teeth implantation in patients with severe periodontitis is uncertain and the latest clinical studies confirm the higher incidence of peri-implantitis and peri-mucositis in this group of patients. Also, dental implants do not adapt to the growth changes in the craniofacial area, which also occur after the end of active growth, which will be discussed during the presentation. Orthodontic correction is an effective method of treating pathological tooth migrations in order to properly arrange them and restore disturbed occlusal relations. However, increased bone defects of the alveolar process in the course of severe periodontitis are a significant problem in planning orthodontic treatment. The elimination of active inflammation within the periodontal tissues, correct diagnosis and treatment planning as well as monitoring the condition of periodontal tissues during orthodontic tooth movement determine the success of treatment. During the lecture, clinical cases will be presented, illustrating the possibilities and limitations of orthodontic treatment in periodontal patients and long-term results. The retention treatment protocol and interdisciplinary collaboration will also be discussed.
